ALYCIA CHRISTINE

Christian Fantasy Author

Stories of monsters learning to become human—because no one is beyond redemption.

I grew up near the dusty cotton fields of Lubbock, Texas. As a child, I struggled to read because of ADHD and dyslexia. But when my father read his favorite fantasy novels to me at age ten, I discovered that the hard work was worth the reward of adventure within each book. That love of story never left me.

I began writing Skinshifter during my time at Texas A&M University, where I earned a B.S. in agriculture journalism. What started as a college course project grew into something far deepera series that would carry me through my own journey of darkness.

My parents gave me more than a love of fantasythey gave me faith in Jesus. That faith was profoundly tested in my twenties and thirties as I lost all four grandparents, my best friend, and one of my closest friends. In 2014, at my lowest point while battling severe depression, Jesus met me in my darkness and began a healing journey that took a decade to complete, piece by piece.

My writing reflects that journey from darkness into light. The Dryad's Sacrifice holds part of my grief over losing my best friend. The Sylvan Cycle novels carry traces of my walk through depression toward hope. Readers often tell me how profoundly the messages of love, redemption, and faith in my work have touched them.

By day, I work in a Dallas warehouse where many of my coworkers are rebuilding their lives after prison—people learning to trust again, to love again, to hope again, to become human again.

Their courage reminds me daily why I write: to tell stories for anyone who has ever felt like a monster, carried unbearable shame, or wondered if they are beyond redemption.

Whether through words or images, I'm drawn to capturing moments of beauty emerging from brokenness. My photography has been featured in Times Square, and when I'm not writing, drawing, shooting photography, or practicing aerial yoga, I work to promote education and literacy through local and international philanthropic organizations. My husband and I live in Dallas, Texas.

I write because I believe no one—not even monsters—are beyond the reach of grace.

About the Sylvan Cycle

In a world where shapeshifters walk between human and beast, where vampires hunger for more than blood, and where the line between monster and hero blurs with every choice - one question echoes: Can the broken be made whole again?

Katja is a skinshifter who despises her human form - until she learns that her humanity is her greatest strength.

Daeryn is a dhampir consumed by revenge - until his quest for justice transforms him into something far worse than the monster he hunts.

Their collision will cost everything. Their choices will reveal whether redemption is real - even for those who deserve it least.

The Sylvan Cycle explores grief, forgiveness, and the audacious hope that no one—not even monsters—are beyond the reach of grace.
